The Guardian says Nokia is working on an Android touchscreen handset that will be revealed in its Nokia World event in September. If Nokia does such a move this probably is a consequence of the fact Symbian foundation is on thin ice.

But even so, Nokia still has Maemo, which is better than Android in many ways. If that is true or not is not surely known, but Nokia spokesman said: “Absolutely no truth to this whatsoever, everyone knows that Symbian is our preferred platform for advanced mobile devices.”

Microsoft and Nokia are working together to put a version of Microsoft’s Office productivity applications on Nokia handsets, the companies said Wednesday.

Microsoft Business Division President Stephen Elop and Nokia Executive Vice President for Devices Kai Oistamo unveiled the alliance — which should give Microsoft leverage against Google and others that are attacking its Office business with free or low-priced, Web-based productivity applications — in a teleconference.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will begin working together immediately to design, develop and market productivity applications for mobile professionals, bringing an application called Microsoft Office Mobile to Nokia’s Symbian devices, they said in a press statement. Nokia is understood to be developing a mobile phone that runs on Google’s Android software platform in a strategic U-turn for the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer.

诺基亚E75将会在手机桌面上提供完整的电子邮件功能，同时这也是诺基亚最新的信息邮件用户界面首次面世。

　　与其他E系列手机不同的是，E75使用滑动式Qwerty标准键盘，同时还有两组分别面向商务用户和个人用户的用户自定义屏幕界面。该款手机整合了诺基亚的Ovi网络服务，包括Ovi文件存储和读取以及电脑文档的脱机读取。另外，还预先设置了诺基亚地图，使用板载辅助GPS以加强启动性能，支持N-Gage游戏服务。

如果朋友问你最近哪款触屏智能机最吸引眼球，他一定会说“诺基亚5800XM”，说起理由更是一大堆：“诺基亚首款触屏手机，系统是最新的S60第五版，3.5MM通用耳机口，标配8G内存卡（最大可扩至16G），机身内存81M，可以说娱乐、工作两不误。目前改版机的价格已接近2000元大关，同档次同价位的手机之中还有谁能与之争锋？”

　　无法支持触屏操控一直是诺记主导的Symbian系统最大的缺陷，也是制约诺基亚在智能机领域扩大影响的主要原因。2008年的智能机舞台无疑是触屏的天下：iPhone、HTC Touch Diamond、三星Instinct和Omnia“你方唱罢我登场”。这样一来缺失触摸作品的诺基亚再也坐不住了，研发新型触摸系统成为诺基亚的当务之急，携带S60第五版系统的5800XM也就诞生于此“乱世之中”。

　　其实，早在该机正式曝光之前，不少电影迷就在《蝙蝠侠前传2：黑暗骑士》中发现了5800XM的踪影，该片出现5800XM的镜头大概只有5-6秒，但已证实诺基亚正在研发对抗iPhone的触屏机。

　　当然，5800XM比起iPhone还是有一定距离的，这从两者的做工、技术含量和价格上就可以看出这一点。
